Let the countdown begin.......50 days to go!
We have 50 days until X-mas...I know that seems like a lot but it is going to fly by! This is my FAVORITE time of year, 1st Halloween, then Thanksgiving and Christmas! Its all about being with family and good friends and being thankful for all the amazing things that have happened over the last year...time to reflect back and try to see how we can do certain things maybe a little better in the New Year! I went the other night with my sister-in-law and knocked out 90% of my Christmas shopping....a few yrs. ago when times were really tough, I couldn't fathom the thought of how I was going to come up with the money for a special and good x-mas for my kids? My mom suggested that I do Layaway, she said when we were kids that is the only way she could get big shopping like school shopping and Christmas done!! I thought it was a great idea, unfortunately there are very few stores that offer Layaway these days...but there is 1 that always offers it! K-mart, so I drove out and with the ages of my kids, I can get everything that I would need for them there!

So I decided to do it again this year, you get everything you need and choose an 8wk. or 12 wk. payment plan. Every 2 weeks you make a payment and on your last payment its all yours, it helps my wallet to not have to pay 1 big chunk of $$! I feel very relieved about Christmas right now!

In a few weeks I will be saying goodbye to my 20's and welcoming my 30's....it's kind of crazy that I am going to be in my 30's, but it actually doesn't bother me! I have a great life and great family, and actually I think life is getting better the older I get! We can talk about when I am getting ready to turn 40 and maybe it will bother me then...Haha

McKenzie is in kindergarten this year and doing great, not that ever had any doubt... she loves school and is a very studious student. Ever since she was in Pre-school we did our "homework books" Big learning books I would buy from Target, so she was already use to sitting down and doing her homework. She is a smart little cookie, and loves to ask Q's and just take it all in and learn everything she can! I will say that our 1 challenge so far has been getting up in the morning....Kenzie is definitely my child in the sleep department, we are not morning people! So I am a constant phsyco trying to get everyone to get moving and get out the door in the morning to not be late! But we are working on getting better at it!

She is also super into gymnastics these days, she is on a performance squad and it is something that is really excelling at. She is sort of a perfectionist and loves to practice....my kids have the perfect body type for the sport they keep telling me, and her coach says she has no problem keeping up with the girls in her class that are 7 and 8yr. olds! Overall McKenzie is doing awesome!

Haylee is in Pre-school this year and loving it, she is making some of her own friends(outside of kenzies friends). Her teacher says she is great and is such a social butterfly, Yep that my girl she never stops moving or talking! She goes 2 times per week and is in in a little church pre-school,so unlike Kenzie she is learning about GOD and comes home singing the cutest little songs about how GOD loves her!
She also does gymnastics and was actually just asked to join the little kid performance squad! She also excels at it, she can do more than some of the older kids...so Adam and I have decided that we are now focusing on the 2020 Olympics..Hahahaha!

We also just got done with Halloween, and we had a great time trick-r-treating! McKenzie was a bunny this year, Haylee was Ariel (my mom made her costume since every Ariel I found was too big for my peanut! I was a Pink Lady from Grease and Adam was....well we are not really sure but at least he dressed up as some sort of White Trash freak! Heather was Hello Kitty, Dan a basketball player, my mom was a fairy god mother and Ally was Tinkerbell! We also went to see Uncle Marky at the Miramar Airshow...do his thing with the Blue Angels...The girls think he is soooo cool, like a celibrity at the Airshows! Adam and myself are doing good, the same....we both work a lot and are very busy! But very blessed and we know what our priorities are...our teamwork gets through our days! Just lots of LOVE!!

Yes it's Fall in the O.C........which for us means 95 degrees!!

I know it's been a long while since I have Blogged, and I always say I am gong to be better about it....but we all know that's probably not true! Haha

Anyhoo Our school year has officially began, and now both girls are in school this year! McKenzie started at a new school this year and I feel like I am being pleasantly surprised. Let's just say I wasn't super stoked on our "home School" for many different reasons, but so far so good!! She is in Kindergarten this year and feels like she is so old and growing up way too fast! She has a passion for learning and wanting to know everything she can. I have ever since she started pre-school had these so called "homework books" that we would sit down and do...and when I forget she reminds me! I love her drive, it is very refreshing!

Haylee is in Pre-school this year at PCOM...a church pre-school by our old house. Neither one of my kids were starting off in school this year where I had originally wanted them. Haylee was all set to go to the same pre-school program that Kenzie went to, and due to us moving she was not able to attend! I was very disappointed, but Laura (sister-in-law) was sending her little guy to Presbyterian Church of the Master. She had sent all of her other kids there, so I figure why not, and then if we needed to help each other out we could do so! I am once again being pleasantly surprised. The teacher that Haylee has was my 17yr. old niece Ali's teacher 14yrs. ago!! They are all super nice and Hayls seems to love it!! I worry about the academic side of the school(b/c there is NONE) I want my kids to have the balance of both...social and academic. Yeah yeah I know....it's just pre-school, but to me its their 1st taste and the love and the good of learning needs to be instilled....Let's just say I will be doing "homework books" with Haylee as well!!

Trying to get back into our school and work routine this year has been difficult....I am just sooo tired! I said to Adam just the other day "How did I do this everyday last year on 3hrs. of sleep? I am too tired!) but I am sure as the weeks go on, We will fall back into our groove!

Things on the home front is good, Adam and I are just both working alot still and the girls are both very bust with swimming lessons, gymnastics, play dates, school,,,and now Kenzie wants to start T-ball! I need 8days in my week LOL!!

I promise to TRY to start blogging on a more regular basis!

Lots of love from The Rummel Fam

Yes, I am aware it has been 6 months since my last confession! :)
Anyhoo I guess alot has happened in the last 6months, I guess I will start whe I left off! So end of November was my 29th Birthday...we had a party at this place called The Derby, it is a dueling piano bar and I had such an amazing time...Having to dance on top of the piano and sing and all!! No I am not joking! I had a blast.

December my little Angel McKenzie turned 5, we had her party at Pump it Up. It's a huge place with bounce houses and inflatable everything, slides, boxing ring etc....She had a blast and invied about 25 kids, next year I told her lets size DOWN a bit! So the second her party was ove she was aleady planning her 6th Birthday! Haha

Then came Christmas, we had an awesome time with friends and family over the holidays, spent X-mas eve with fam at my sisters Lo, X-mas day at our house and had my entire Family over...the girls main want from the Big man was an ariel and Jasmine doll! And wouldn't you know that he came through!

January we hit a huge milestone with Haylee, she potty trained! It took all of a few days and that was all she needed, a few accidents here and there throughout the process she was definitley ready! Then about 6 weeks ago she finally got her BIG girl bed, and we always told her as soon as she got her bed she had to give up her DeDe's(pacifier). That was one of the biggest challenges we had with Hayls along the way, but wouldn't you know as soon as spent her 1st night in her bed she gave Adam all of her DeDe's and we have never looked back!
We went through a few non eventful months of just day to day humdrum and lots of work, school, park days, and playdates!

So here we are today, last weekend Adam myself, and the girls drove down to San Diego to meet up with one of my best friends Megan, to participate in the MS walk...Megan has MS and I would do anything in my power to help the cause, so we walked! We then thought it was the perfect opportunity to make a little mini vacay out of the weekend. So we booked a room at the Sheraton on the bay(really nice) and walked around downtown, went swimming, ordered movies and room service and crashed out that 1st day! The next day we took the girls to Sea World for the 1s time....We had such an awesome day, we did everything possible! Adam even secretly booked us an encounter with the dolphins, we got to feed and pet them up close and personal...it was really a neat experience!! He is so amazing!

And now here we are almost May and life as we know it is still as hectic and busy as ever...and has more love from the people who matter most!!
Oh and a few things I forgot to mention....a few trips to Disneyland, Uncle Marky's 1st airshow with Blue Angels( so very proud of him) and he then came home with us for a visit....the girls adore him! Lo's bithday! Kenzie had her 1st visit to the dentist..and she got a big thumbs up!and prob more that I can't remember!! Till the next post hopefully sooner than later!
And Easter!!
